This year's annual Grandparents' day assembly was a HUGE success. It included a music piece accompanied by rhythmic basketball dribbling and another number using cups. The Grandparents seemed to have a great time of fellowship and fun.

On Tuesday the Elementary hosted a Bike Parade 
as a part of Drug Free Greenville's Red Ribbon Week!!

This week the Third Grade class planted beans and worked on their math skills, to the dismay of classmate Caleb Witt, who said,"Math is terrifying."

Fifth and Sixth Grade took a field trip to Fresh Water Fisheries.
Sixth grade also flew kites on Wednesday 
as a part of Drug Free Greenville's Red Ribbon Week.

Eighth Grade baked a meal for Mrs. Witt after her cancer surgery.

** ROBOTICS SPECIAL NOTICE **
Could you build a computer in less than twenty-five minutes? Team Talon, Greenville Christian School's high school robotics team, is engineering a robot to do (almost) exactly that! Team Talon is in its third year of involvement in Texas A&M Commerce Lion's Pride BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology) Robotics. This year's team of sixteen is innovative and eager for the "sports-like science- and engineering-based robotics competition." Its members would like to invite everyone to the competition on October 26, 2013, at the Texas A&M Commerce Field House. This week, First and Second grade have been preparing for the 
upcoming Grandparent's Day Assembly!

6th grade has been making pumpkins for Grandparent's Day this Friday.
Along with 3rd grade making pictures of each of their grandparents 
in their own creative ways.

Second grade made instruments out of complete trash, into beautiful art for their beloved grandparents and have been practicing for a personal narrative to say to them.

All of Elementary went to the Drug Free assembly in downtown Greenville 
to be educated on what to do in bad situations.

Next week is Red Ribbon week at the school and all of the student body will show their spirit by dressing up on select days of the week. 
At the end of the week there will be huge COLOR WAR!

Pre-kindergarten got into the bible this week as they learned Romans 8:28
"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good."
They also learned about the story of Moses and how he freed the Israelites from Egypt and the Pharaoh by trusting God.

First Grade talked about Christopher Columbus and how he thought he had landed in India. They are also learning subtraction!

Third Grade visited Second grade this week and taught them some new words.

Fourth Grade had a exciting week, earning themselves some ice cream, prepping for grandparents day, and dressing up for pink day this Thursday.

Fifth Grade has been learning some science, being taught about the reproduction systems of plants!

Mrs. Traverse read "Stephanie's Ponytail" to the First Grade. She gave them their very own "ponytail" to help re tell the story.  Doesn't Mrs. Traverse looks great with a long ponytail?

Third grade has been writing their very first paragraphs of their soon to be novels. While the Second grade class has been learning about the mechanical wave of sound.

This week in Chapel, guest speaker Shawn McBride talked about keeping good company to have a better life.

Sixth and Fifth got artistic as they sculpted abstract figures and illustrated Psalm 23:3.

The music classes have begun to practice for the anticipated Grandparents Day event. Where the kids of 8th through Pre-K will be singing to their beloved family members.
