2nd Grade:
Mrs. Bench's class performed in this weeks chapel service!


3rd Grade:
Behind Second grade, these kids are also preparing for their own chapel. Come on by parents!

4th Grade:
This class made their very own creative weather vanes. To gather water from the rain!



OTHER NEWS: 
On Friday, some of the elementary went outside to have an Arbor Day presentation being done! Mrs. Denney and Mrs. Quimby from Keep Greenville Beautiful came to announce the winners of the Arbor Day poster contest from GCS:

Week of 4.14.14

Welcome to RISE Online.

Here are some highlights of what happened
 at Greenville Christian School this past week!!

1st Grade:
This class has been studying hard about continents in this vast world!

2nd Grade:
Second grade got creative this week for Easter as they have been working on banners tell the story of Easter and how Jesus saved us from our sins, along with creating a skit for their very own chapel! Also their butterflies came out!



3rd Grade:
These kids got festive and created an entire Easter party! 

5th Grade:
Making an escape pack that the Jews used during the Holocaust.

6th Grade:
This Thursday was the annual Rocket Launch here at GCS. Where the sixth grade, lead by Mrs. Simpson, created their very own rockets and launched them into the sky! Check out these rocket designs!



Secondary:
7th grade just finished their Wild Flower Project, where they go around the town and study Texas' flowers. They also went to the Holocaust museum where they got to hear from an actual survivor tell about the horrific times during World War II. They even celebrated Passover this week, check out this festive gathering.

Week of 4.7.14

Here are some highlights of what happened
 at Greenville Christian School this past week!!

The Elementary and middle school students started and finished their TerraNova testing. This took up most of their class time this week and there is nothing else to report. TerraNova is a series of standardized achievement tests used in the United States designed to assess K-12 student achievement in reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, vocabulary, spelling, and other areas.The test series is published by CTB/McGraw-Hill. TerraNova was created with an update in 1996 CTB to the California Achievement Tests and the California Tests of Basic Skills.

2nd Grade:
Here are some pictures of the class-made chrysalis from the Second grade!




3rd Grade:
This class has been creating Old Town houses out of boxes. Check out these cool designs!







4th Grade:
We have the results from the Chili-Cook Off from last week! The winners are Oliva, Sydney, and Megan from the Group E. Congratulations to your chili!

OTHER NEWS: 
We also have Open House pictures, where teachers of GCS showed off their kids' hard work for our parents and prospective parents looking for a nice education for their own children. Check them out!







Mr. Walker and Mrs. Simpson are the chosen 2014 teachers of the year representing the Northeast Texas Chapter of the Air Force Association, in the K-8 and 9-12 categories!

Week of 3.31.14

Here are some highlights of what happened
 at Greenville Christian School this past week!!

1st Grade:      
These kids have been making gift bags for the Texas Oncology Center, as well as celebrating Story Book Character Day. These pictures are great!

2nd Grade:      
The class made the life cycle of caterpillars with pasta. Here are some pictures!


3rd Grade:      
The 3rd grade held their annual History Museum on Thursday and Friday during school. Where each kid picks out a famous person from anywhere in history and reenacts as them for the day! Check out the cool pictures!  





4th Grade:      
4th grade has begun to start on their Historical Texas Figures project, which is similar to the History Museum at 3rd. They have already turned in poster boards!  

5th Grade:      
The International Festival was this week. These little tour guides told everybody about their country and their way of life. Look at these amazing presentations! 



6th Grade:      
The State Fair is not like the one in Dallas, but it's a whole lot cooler here at GCS. Students presented a state they were given and gave food just like the International Festival. Here are some cool states!


Secondary:      
The high school along with the rest of the school is coming back out into the community for BMW Day. The whole entire student body is involved and has helped many others to see Christ's love for them. Here some pictures of the hard working students. 








OTHER NEWS: 

Here are the results back from the Collin Street Bakery Art Show contest they had for the kids. Each participant who entered the contest received a voucher for a half dozen cookies.  Congratulations to all who entered!
