Pre-K:          
The kids have been learning about Jesus healing the blind man and practicing a song for Grandparent's day!

Kindergarten:   
The class has been memorizing Romans 12:21 "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome with evil."

1st Grade:      
Have begun counting money!

2nd Grade:      
These little patriots have been learning about the Liberty Bell and the Statue of Liberty! Murica'.

3rd Grade:      
This class has begun their animal projects to show their grandparent's in the next few weeks!

5th Grade:      
This class went on a field trip to learn how to fish at the Fishery!

Our Lady Eagles were defeated three out of two times, but put up a good fight in this district game. 

Junior Varsity Volleyball:

Our JV won both of their games in a clutch match against their opponents. 


Middle School Volleyball:
9-30-14
GCS vs. Garland Christian Academy
A & B team both won their games in a consecutive streak.

Week of 9.22.14

Here are some highlights of what happened
 at Greenville Christian School this past week!!

Be My Witness Day is day out of the year where the whole school participates in a collective effort to be witness' to people around the community. Whether it is doing outside work or hanging out with kids, we all do it for our Lord. 

We also have a nation wide event in the morning called See You at the Pole. Where students from the schools go to their flag poles to pray for our nation, friends, and family.

Pre-K:          
It's that time again! Students have been practicing songs for their Grandparent's Day event!

Kindergarten:   
The class has been learning a new Bible verse, Luke 1:37 "For nothing will be impossible without God" and the a new letter for them, the letter C.

1st Grade:      
Collected canned foods for F.I.S.H. along with 3rd grade!

2nd Grade:      
This class was learning how to properly grip a pencil and began studying on how the US flag came to be.

3rd Grade:      



4th Grade:      
Making chew toys for the needy animals in the animal shelters around our community!



5th Grade:      
Counting box tops for our school funds!

6th Grade:      
Gathered goody bags for the AFA golf tournament!

GCS won three straight sets in the district game.

GCS volleyball team defeats the team with help from Meaghan Brown, Shelby Hauser and their 12 service points. Catherine Martens led the team in kills.

Week of 9.15.14

Pre-K:          
The kids were learning about the Tower of Babel and synonyms and antonyms! 

Kindergarten:   
The class learned how to sing "Down by the Bay" and patterns!

1st Grade:      
These little authors wrote story about a Native American called Sookey's Camoto.

2nd Grade:      
Second grade has been reading about Job and how he stayed faithful even though he faced adversity. 

3rd Grade:      
These kids have been really good this week! For their reward, they got stars for good behavior!

4th Grade:      
The class has been learning about the different biomes and habitats in our environment! 


5th Grade:      
Fifth grade has been studying provinces and territories all over the world! 

6th Grade:      
This class became scientists this week on examining ecosystems and food chains!

Week of 9.8.14

Here are some highlights of what happened
 at Greenville Christian School this past week!!

This week on Thursday, was 9/11. This is a memorial website to those who were affected and changed forever by this tragedy. Let this be a day we never forget.

Pre-K & Kindergarten:    
This class is learning about Noah, they have been building an ark out of blocks for a project!

1st Grade:               
 These little guys became community helpers this week!

2nd Grade:               
The kids learned about Abraham on how he prayed for Sodom and Gomorrah, even though they were wicked. 

4th Grade:               
On Thursday, the kids in this class wrote a prayer to the families affected by the attacks. 
They also started learning more about science and the scientific method.  


5th Grade & 6th Grade:   
Both of the classes dissected frogs and owl pellets!

Week of 8.25.14 & 9.2.14

Pre-K:          
The class was talking about Adam and Eve, as well as days of the week for their first time!

Kindergarten:   
During their study on Creation, the whole class made fish out of hands!

1st Grade:      
This class became scientists this week and conducted experiments including milk. 

2nd Grade:      
Mrs. Bench taught her students about making sunflowers out of paper!

3rd Grade:      
The class got four new students, Bradley and Judith. Along with hermit crabs Mr. Flats and Mr. Krabs!

4th Grade:      
The fourth grade went to art with Mr. Giles. Sounds fun!


5th Grade:      
This class decided to make their very own paper. As in, creating paper from scratch!

6th Grade:      
Along with 1st Grade conducting experiments, the class dissected a frog!

Week of 5.12.14

Welcome to RISE Online.

Here are some highlights of what happened
 at Greenville Christian School this past week!!

1st Grade:
This Friday the class had an AR Pajama day! 

2nd Grade:
The class has been reading a 5th grade level book! It is called "Little House in the Big Woods"


4th Grade:
This class went to see "Charlotte's Web" in Dallas this week on Thursday. 


6th Grade:
6th and 1st grade worked together on a project including cornstarch and water. Judging which ones they can stand on!



Secondary:

7th grade planted pumpkins, watermelon, and cantaloupe.

We also asked the teachers on what their thoughts were on the year as whole. Here are some funny and heartfelt comments they gave us:

Mrs.Nelson: "Thank goodness it's almost over!" 
Mrs. Bowers: "Among teachers, I am most blessed."
Mrs. Simpson: "I don't work well under pressure."
Mrs. Bench: "2nd grade was awesome!"
Mrs. Traverse: "It's the end of the year we are just as tired as ya'll are."
Mrs. McKeey: "Now is not a good time..."
Mr. Witt: "Where did the time go?"
Mrs. Wrinkle: "It's been real, it's been fun, it hasn't been real fun."
Mr. Smith: "Education is the only business that the customer does not care as long as they get the receipt."
Mrs. Byrd: "What an awesome year!"
Mr. Giles: "Somebody give me a funny quote."

Week of 5.5.14

 at Greenville Christian School this past week!!

1st Grade:
It is First grade's turn to do chapel this week! Check out what God laid on their hearts!


2nd Grade:
Second grade had the opportunity to lay chick eggs! 




3rd Grade:
Some of this class, along with 4th-6th grade, went to Frisco for getting all of their AR goals throughout the year to cheer on the Rough Riders!

5th Grade:
5th and 6th grade went to the Cinemark in Rockwall to go see the new Disney movie Bears!


6th Grade:
The class went to Six Flags! They also made ice cream with the 1st graders!

Secondary:
The Juniors ALSO went to Six Flags this week, here is a pretty awesome selfie.




The SADD program had a walk-a-thon for Drug-Free Greenville with the theme as Duck Dynasty. Take a look a these devoted people walking for the cause.
